The name "Shaz" was a given nickname back in 1967 while in college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I graduated as an Art major but was drafted in May of 1970 several days later. I liked it, the name, not the Army, and it has come with me to Texas via the Army, Los Angeles, Winchester,Va. Washington, D.C. and Breckenridge, Colorado. Houston is now my home, but I was born and raised in Beaver Falls, Penna. I did deliver the newspaper to Joe Namath's mom for years. My claim to fame I guess.

My father was a fine man and as of this date he still is. My mother was the best a son could have. I have one great brother to whom much is owed. I have a daughter who is honest, pretty, kind, and smart. I am very proud of her and thankful to have her in my life. There is much to be thankful for. My relatives have had a great, positive impact on my life. So many people have helped me through this life, too many to name, thanks to you all.

With all I have to be thankful for it would be insulting to not give praise to him who holds our breath in the palm of his hand, The Lord God Almighty, and his son who died for me, Jesus Christ.

Design and building have always been a pleasure to me. I remember building with blocks and having my brother run and jump my master piece, as older brothers do, much to my displeasure.
It has taken a long time to begin feeling comfortable with my work and my ideas but the process has been enjoyable, as has been the physical aspects of woodworking. The rewards are visual and tactile results, coupled with the satisfaction of the recipient. My brother is one of my most loyal encouragers.

Hope you enjoy your visit to this site. P.S. sometimes I look like this...
